Elise is really starting to make some serious tears when she cries these days. Which when you add that to her powty lip, she really gets what she wants.
This Elise after she fell asleep in her high chair. She just couldn't stay awake long enought o finish getting gavaged (fed through her NG tube).
I've been trying to catch a video of Elise first thing in the morning. She normally wakes us up by talking loudly in her room, and then is SO HAPPY to see us when we come in to get her up. Now me holding a camera this morning kinda threw her off, but you can still get the idea. You'll see that we have to keep her arms tucked in with a blanket so she doesn't pull out her NG, and keep mittens on her hands for the occasions when she does get out of the blanket. She had her 6 months vaccines Friday and did really well weighing in over 18 pounds! Her pediatrician says she looks really good. He didn't feel any teeth yet, and said she might be a late teether, which Jason said he was too. And since she is all Dad, I'm sure she'll do just as he did. On a negative note Elise has come down with her first illness. She has become increasingly congested and has a productive cough. We have had to increase her oxygen to 2 liters. We are hoping this is as bad as it will get, because she can't handle much more. She is still her normal happy self, even though you can tell she doesn't feel well. She is done taking her diuretic, hopefully for good, and her prednisone will be done this week. Which only leaves her taking Viagra, Reglan, Zofran, Pepcid and a multi-vitamin by mouth. We are practicing sitting up, and she still hates tummy time. Her speech therapist has us working with the bottle again, although all she does is chew on the nipple and then spit out the milk. And she is still working on mastering baby food. Her nasal canula is stained yellow from the sweet potatoes and squash. It is funny how messy feeding a baby is. Our weather here has been FABULOUS for November, and we are trying to take advantage if it by going on lots of walks with Elise and the dogs. I hope all of you are having similar wonderful weather. How precious! Still loving the pictures and videos - keep them coming, please. Yes, Jason got his first tooth at 11 1/2 months, and he promptly bit me during breastfeeding, so he was quickly weaned! Elise does look a lot like Jason when he was a baby. But her fingers and toes definitely look like her Mom. She is way cuter than all the other babies, but I am very biased. And, she is so happy! Of course, she has the greatest parents:) Love you three, Grandma Marcie

The Nashville Stages have been remiss in blogging lately. Of course, it's our loss. We've read back through the last few weeks and Elise has grown so much and continues to make us laugh & smile. We look forward to when we'll be in Springfield and can come see all of you! Kristin, our prayers go to you and your family at the loss of your Grandfather.
