Here she is back on nasal
canula!!!

Go
Dawgs!

Elise's Great Aunt Mary, and cousins Greg and Katie came to visit.

We all went to the cardinals game.

My cousin Katie got to hold me.

The last two days consisted of a lot of weaning and waiting. And finally today at about 5:30 pm Elise was taken off the vent and put back on nasal
cannula. So far this evening she is tolerating it great. Her little cry is very hoarse which makes it even more sad. Her only
meds now are
Reglan to try to decrease vomiting, Viagra to help with oxygen exchange in the lungs and help prevent another episode like last week, and the diuretic to help keep the fluid out of her lungs. All
meds are being given by mouth, so hopefully her
PICC line can come out of her head soon.
She was visited by her cousins and Great Aunt from Washington. And as you can see we went to a Cardinals game against the Royals. Dad is to return this weekend for a visit, and Elise can't wait. Now her next task is to conquer vomiting and feeding. As we know a long process.
I will post again on Friday with more pictures and updates. Love you all!

Elise,
It's great to see you extubated and on the way to healing and your first Cardinals game…other than your intrauterine attendance in St. Louis and Springfield.
Old Irish proverb to Elise:
May you always walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings
beside your nursery door.
More Irish proverbs:
A newborn babe
brings light to the house
warmth to the hearth
and joy to the soul
for wealth is family
family is wealth.
